As expected the Maggy was heavin on friday night . We were down early to set up and I noticed that certain fans had already laid claim to their seats (always a good sign).
We started the night off with " I'm a mover"and the crowd were with us all night and raised the roof on "Wishing Well " in the second half . Everyone seemed pretty pleased with themselves - quite rightly - the excellent Heavy Load choir.
Thanks to all that came ..... especially , the ladies from washington , our elderly vocal coach / air guitarist (hope you're not deaf now ) ,the lady with the P.R. t-shirt and her hubby , the nurses and all of our friends .
FIRST AVENUE STUDIOS 20th Feb .
Hot on the tail of the great gig at the Maggy we got our arses down to First Ave. in Heaton to put down some tracks for a new cd the bands putting together .
As you've probably gathered musicians don,t operate very well during the day but nevertheless we got down to work and after a few visits to the pub by certain band members the session seemed to gain a bit of clarity .We're all quite pleased with the results and we must thank Dave the engineer for makin an excellent job .
A few of you have been askin for a new cd ( the old one havin been of a previous lineup ) so as soon as this one is ready to roll out you'll be the first to know.
The Fox and Hounds , Crawcrook 6th March
I never realised that there were so many Free and Bad Co. fans in Crawcrook !
This was our second time at the Fox and hounds and we hoped we could attract as big a crowd as the first time round . I wasn't disappointed cos soon the place was packed with people ready for action .
It soon became apparent that the crowd knew their stuff cos all of the early Free classics had numerous folk singin along (much thanks to Don and Doug for their efforts ) and this made for a great first half .
The second half was awsome and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves . 10/10 for the choir on Wishing Well , and of course Alright Now.
Thanks to Paul and Linda and the ladies on the bar for being fantastic hosts and makin us feel so welcome.
Special thanks to the Terrible Twosome , Charlotte and Jane . See you next time !

NICE TO SEE YOU
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who comes along to gigs on a number of levels. Not only are you supporting Heavy Load but you are supporting the pubs, clubs and venues that make the effort (and go through the licensing process!!) to keep the live music scene alive in the North East....
...and for those of you who take the time to speak to the band - you have no idea how great it is to hear that we are appreciated and capturing the sounds of yesteryear. I'd like to think that we have made a lot of friends over the years it's always a pleasure to meet new faces and catch up with faces we know well!!
